Milestone sessions always include a a few optional family shots to capture your family at this stage in your journey. I can't wait to celebrate with your family!

These sweet sibling came to my family phoenix studio. Mom was wanting a timeless, classic portraits that would stand the test of time. These siblings were to fun! We wanted to capture their personality and we totally fulfilled that. Having clean portraits that will never go out of style is so important.
Mom wanted a beautiful styled first birthday cake smash studio session with soft, feminine aesthetic. Ella was such a ham for her session. Full of natural and silly emotions throughout her studio session. Her session was perfect, yet elevated for a clean, pastel, studio aesthetic.

Milestone portrait sessions are such a beautiful way to document your baby’s first year — and as a studio photographer, the experience should feel simple, guided, and stress-free for parents.

How The Process Works For Your Baby's Portrait Session
Most families book milestone sessions around:
3–4 months (tummy time & eye contact)
6–8 months (sitting stage)
12 months (first birthday / cake smash)
After booking, the photographer will:
Send a session prep guide
Discuss styling (colors, wardrobe, themes)
Coordinate props or cake (if it’s a first birthday session)
Schedule the session time around baby’s happiest time of day
Planning is key — milestone sessions are short and baby-led, so timing matters.
BOOKING & PLANNING
step one:
Most milestone sessions are styled to keep the focus on your baby. Studios often offer:
Neutral, timeless backdrops
Soft textures (blankets, wraps, rompers)
Simple props like crates, stools, or tiny beds
Coordinated cake smash setups (if applicable)
The goal is clean, classic, and distraction-free imagery that ages beautifully.
STUDIO SETUP & STYLING
step two:
Milestone sessions are usually:
-30–60 minutes long
-Relaxed and playful
-Completely baby-led
Photographers focus on capturing:
-Eye contact & expressions
-Personality (smiles, serious looks, curiosity)
-Developmental skills (sitting, clapping, standing)
Connection with parents (if included)
Breaks are expected — diaper changes, snacks, and cuddles are all part of the process.
For cake smash sessions:
-Clean portraits first
-Cake portion second
-Optional splash/bath setup to finish
SESSION DAY
step three:
Within 1–2 weeks, you’ll typically:
-Receive a proofing gallery
-Favorite the amount of images that came with your package
-You can purchase more images if you would like
AFTEr THE SESSION
step four:
After your favorites are picked you will email me letting me know you are ready for final edits.
You will received your final gallery within 2-3 weeks from session date/ turn around. ( Sometimes sooner!)
You can share your beautiful gallery with friends and family once delivered!

Yes! I will send you all the info you need for the best printing labs. You also can order right off your online gallery.
Q: What kind of print artwork is available?
I can help with any orders you need with prints or books with a printing lab.
